Security tutorial in collaboration with Double Shot Security Inc.

Understanding infrastructure security threats and implementing effective security measures are key factors in ensuring the reliability and integrity of network infrastructure. This tutorial will detail the latest network infrastructure threats, along with best current practices to mitigate many of the risks. Specific attention will be given to securing network infrastructure devices, common filtering practices, effective logging practices, routing protocol security issues, and mechanisms to mitigate damage from Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.

The tutorial is targeted at network administrators and engineers responsible for implementing network security within an organisation, and at anyone with an interest in system security implementation strategy.

This tutorial will discuss the concept of spam and update the audience on the latest tips and measures to defend against spam. It will also cover how to keep junk mail out of the inbox using filters and other spam prevention utilities. Best current practice will be discussed in the context of end users, ISPs, and organisations.

These presentations are targeted at email administrators, ISPs, end-users, and anyone with an interest in combating spam.

Spam keynote abstract

This presentation takes a realistic look at the problems that spam poses to the Internet and its users in the Asia Pacific region. It covers some ideas and initiatives currently being implemented, which facilitate people from around the region working together at all levels to stop spam. This is known in governance circles as a "multistakeholder approach".

APCAUCE thanks APNIC for this opportunity to bring people from around the region together in the effort to mitigate spam.
