2013 APNIC EC Elections

The APNIC Executive Council (EC) represents the APNIC Membership and acts in the best interests of the organization.

Open elections to fill vacant positions on the APNIC EC were held on 1 March 2013 at APNIC 35. The EC candidates who were elected will serve a two year term. They are:

About APNIC Election Timelines

The dates and times that govern the APNIC election process are measured backward from the close of voting on election day. Election day is the day of the APNIC Member Meeting (AMM) at the APNIC Conference where the election is being held.

During the week of the APNIC Conference, the times are calculated according to local time at the event location. In this case, Singapore time (UTC +8).

  • Nominations open approximately 8 weeks before AMM day
  • Nominations close approximately 2 weeks before AMM day
  • Proxy & Online voting opens 10 working days before AMM day
  • Proxy & Online voting closes at 09:00 48 hours before the election
  • EC on-site voting takes place 09:00-14:00 local time of the event

Voting

Only organizations with a current APNIC Member account are eligible to vote in EC elections online through MyAPNIC or on site at the APNIC Member Meeting (AMM).

Onsite voting takes place during the AMM on Friday, 1 March 2013 from 09:00 - 14:00 (UTC +8)* in the Jurong Room at Shangri-la Hotel, 22 Orange Grove Road, 258350, Singapore.

Voting entitlements

Voting entitlements are only available to individuals who are Corporate Contacts, or Authorized contacts with voting rights given by the Corporate Contact.

Online voting

Online voting is only available to APNIC Members via MyAPNIC. To cast votes online, a valid APNIC certificate must be installed in your browser.

Online voting opens on Wednesday, 13 February 2013 and closes on Wednesday, 27 February 2013 9:00 (UTC +8).

Proxy appointment

Corporate Contacts may appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf. The proxy holder need not be from the Member organization, but must be registered to attend the AMM in person.

Proxies can be submitted to the APNIC Secretariat online via MyAPNIC or by printing and signing a Proxy Appointment Form and faxing it or emailing a scanned copy to the APNIC Secretariat.

The proxy appointment is valid only when confirmed by the APNIC Secretariat. Confirmation emails are sent to both the Corporate Contact and the appointed proxy once the proxy appointment is verified.

Proxy appointment opens on Wednesday, 13 February 2013 and closes on Wednesday, 27 February 2013 9:00 (UTC +8).

On-site voting

Onsite voting takes place during the AMM on Friday, 1 March 2013 from 09:00 - 14:00 (UTC +8)* in the Jurong Room at Shangri-la Hotel, 22 Orange Grove Road, 258350, Singapore.

Corporate Contacts, contacts with voting rights, or appointed proxies can collect ballot papers from the Voting Desk.

*On-site voting commences when the Election Chair announces the start of the voting.

2013 APNIC EC Nominees

A final list of nominees is listed below in the order their nominations were received.

Nominations for the EC Election were open from 4 January until 8 February 2013, and were made via the online nomination form. All nominations were made by the Member's Corporate Contacts, or by an authorized Member Contact with voting rights given by the Member's Corporate Contact. Members were welcome to nominate a representative from their own organization. All nominations are listed on this website after APNIC confirms the nominee is able and willing to serve on the EC.
