Chat client setup
Follow the steps below to use a standalone chat client:

Download the chat client
APNIC has tested the chat client PSI on most major platforms.
You can also use other chat clients that support group Jabber chat. Your systems administrator may be able to help you choose and configure an alternative client.

Create an account on a Jabber server
Refer to your chat client help guide or the Jabber.org User Guide for instructions. Ensure that the Jabber server you use to create your account supports group chat.

Connect to a group chat
In your chat client, choose the "Join Group chat" option.
Then enter the following information into the box that appears:
Host: conference.jabber.apnic.net Room: Enter the name of the chat room that you wish to join Nickname: Enter any nickname that you wish to use for this chat For example:
Host: conference.jabber.apnic.net Room: room1 Nickname: john Chat rooms available at APNIC Meetings
room1 This chat room is used for discussions in the main conference room sessions. You can follow the session live via the video or audio stream or the live transcripts while giving your input via the room1 chat room. Any questions or statements you add to room1 will be read out in the session. room2 This chat room is used for discussions in the parallel conference room sessions. You can follow the session live via the video or audio stream or the live transcripts while giving your input via the room2 chat room. Any questions or statements you add to room1 will be read out in the session. text_streaming This chat room is used to stream live transcripts of selected sessions. There is no chat in this room.
