APRICOT 2014 will be held in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia from 18 - 28 February 2014. The workshops will be held at Taylor's University from 18 - 22 February, and the conference will be held at at the Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa from 24 - 28 February.

Petaling Jaya, known as "PJ" by locals, is a city originally developed as a satellite township of Kuala Lumpur, the capital and most populous city in Malaysia. Petaling Jaya was granted city status in 2006. Since the 1990s, Kuala Lumpur has hosted many international sporting, political, and cultural events and is the home of the tallest twin buildings in the world. The Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa is approximately 45 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the Lower Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT), subject to traffic conditions.

Arriving in Kuala Lumpur

There will be a hotel transfer available to the Sunway Hotel Resort & Spa and Pyramid Tower from KLIA and LCCT, which can be arranged directly through the online booking form. Please note, a 50% surcharge is payable between the hours of 00:00 and 06:00.

There are no public transportation services from KLIA/LCCT to Petaling Jaya, but you can arrange alternate transport with the airport limo service or arrive by taxi. Taxi coupons can be purchased outside Customs.

Getting around Petaling Jaya

There are taxi and bus services in Petaling Jaya. You can call for metered taxis or wait at a taxi stand. In general, charges will be payable in cash (RM), but the Sunway Hotels offer shuttle services into KL and several PJ landmarks such as Sunway Lagoon, One Utama, and The Curve Shopping Centre.

Visa exemptions

Visas are not required for ASEAN nationals, with the exception of Myanmar, for a stay of less than one month. For longer stays, ASEAN nationals, with the exception of Brunei and Singapore, require a visa.

There is no visa requirement for US citizens. Please refer to the list of visa requirements by economy.

How to apply for a visa

Visas to travel to Malaysia for business are classed as Multiple Entry Visas. There may be fees required.

Climate
