Aftab Siddiqui has been a member of the APNIC Community for a long time. He first attended the APNIC meeting in 2009, and since then has been to many more and became an active member of the community. He manages a team of Network Engineers in Network Operations at Cybernet, a major ISP in Pakistan along with all the projects related to automation, capacity building, new technology ventures etc. But he's a rare breed, who despite the full time obligations has found time to serve as co-chair of the SANOG Program Committee, participate actively in APNIC Policy Development Process, has absolute idea of how the regional and global policies are currently in place for IP addresses and their impact in the region, has been leading IPv6 Task Force Pakistan, and volunteer to raise IPv6 awareness in college and Universities in Pakistan. In between he has also presented at various regional network operators forums.
In addition to regional IPv6 policy related activities and his long standing experience in Network operations, number resource policy as well as active participation in the APNIC policy process makes him a very suitable candidate for the NRO NC. |
