Visa
India visa entry requirements
Most international travellers to India are required to hold a valid passport and an appropriate visa or e‑visa issued by the Government of India. Visa requirements vary depending on nationality.
As APNIC 62 is an international conference, attendees are generally expected to apply for a Conference e‑visa, unless advised otherwise by an Indian embassy or consulate in their economy.
All international conferences held in India must be registered with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). NIXI and ISPAI, the local host and co-host for APNIC 62 respectively, have completed this registration and obtained the required approvals.
Check to see if you need a visa
Before making travel arrangements, we recommend checking the official visa information provided by the Government of India to confirm your visa requirements.
Please note that participants of some economies are not eligible for an e-visa and must apply in person through the appropriate Indian embassy or consulate.
Conference visa documents
If you need a visa, the required official supporting documents will be provided to you by APNIC after you complete your conference registration. To receive the required documents, you will need to fill out the Conference Visa Documents form.
Based on the information you provide, you may receive all or some of the following:
- Official APNIC 62 invitation letter
- Copy of invitation letter from the host, NIXI
- Visa application additional information
- APNIC 62 MEA clearance letter
- APNIC 62 MHA clearance letter
Once processed, you will be able to download your documents.
If you are from a Prior Reference Category (PRC) economy (Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan), are a stateless person, or a foreigner of Pakistani origin, please refer to FAQ 3, as a more rigorous process applies.
Apply early
If you require a visa, we strongly encourage you to apply as soon as registration opens. Please ensure that all application details and supporting documents are complete and accurate before submission.
Important note
Please note, visa processing is managed entirely by the Government of India and its embassies and consulates. Processing times and outcomes can vary, and APNIC is unable to influence or expedite visa decisions.
Attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements and ensuring visa applications are submitted well in advance of travel.
