Taiji received his Ph.D. from Keio University and his Master's degree from the Graduate School of Information Science at Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan.
He has experience in planning, developing, operating, and providing user support for multiple infrastructure systems, including RPKI systems. He has also been involved in projects related to practical deployment, participating in the IETF community and contributing to research and the planning of technical sessions and events.

Taiji has participated periodically in APNIC meetings as a JPNIC staff member since 2003 and has been involved in events and sessions related to RPKI, as well as technical exchanges between NIRs. He served as Routing Security SIG Co-Chair for two years, acting as Chair during the first year when the Chair position was vacant, and continuing as Co-Chair in the second year.
Nominee statement
Over the past two years, I have enjoyed working with the Chair and the APNIC Secretariat, and I feel that the Routing Security SIG can become even more interesting with this team.
With the introduction of ASPA services, there are new topics around AS path security. At the same time, I would like to continue building good communication with people across the AP region, especially colleagues in NIRs, and keep the SIG connected to their experiences and understandings.

Dr. Kimura is a well organised, thoughtful and earnest member of the Routing Security community. His work since APNIC 58 as Co-Chair has been excellent. The community is well served by his continued service as Co-Chair. He completed his PhD this year with Keio University on Models for PKI certificate validation. He has published research on Routing Security and written for the APNIC Blog.
