APNIC EC Election
Three positions were open for election at APNIC 53. The nominations (in order they were received) were:

Congratulations to Sumon Ahmed Sabir, Kam Sze Yeung, and Achie Atienza on their re-election to the APNIC EC. They will each serve a two-year term of office.

Cooperation SIG
The Cooperation SIG is a forum for discussion about broader Internet issues such as public policy and Internet governance with a focus on information sharing, outreach, capacity building, and other activities that will advance APNIC’s vision for a global, open, stable, and secure Internet. The focus of discussion at this SIG was on the Internet’s technical success factors.
The SIG had the following presentations:
- ICANN NomCom 2022 outreach (Brajesh Jain)
- Internet way of networking (Adrian Wan)
- DNS4EU (Chris Buckridge)
NIR SIG
The NIR SIG shares information relating to the operations, policies, and procedures of National Internet Registries (NIRs) with the aim of promoting close cooperation among the NIRs and with the APNIC Secretariat.
The NIR SIG had presentations from the following NIRs:
- CNNIC Update (Zhen Yu)
- IDNIC Update (David Aditya Yoga Pratma)
- VNNIC Update (Truong Khanh Huyen)
- JPNIC Update (Koki Nakagawa)
- TWNIC Update (WenYu Chen)
- IRINN Update (Abishek Mishra)
Routing Security SIG
The Routing Security SIG provides a platform to discuss operational issues and best practices to secure global Internet routing. It also provides advice, support and technical review of policy proposals concerning routing security to advise the APNIC Community.
Presentations included:
- Detecting Internet routing outages with topology and service analysis (Dr Pei Zhang)
- Status of RPKI in Australia and New Zealand (Terry Sweetser)
- More than exchange, NNIX’s practice in routing security (Shicong Zhang)
- ROA preservation during transfers, route management pre-validation, registry API (Tom Harrison)
There was also an open discussion on the Routing Security Survey results and next steps.
Open Policy Meeting
The APNIC Open Policy Meeting is an open forum to develop policies and procedures that relate to the management and use of Internet address resources by APNIC, NIRs, and ISPs within the Asia Pacific region.
The following policy proposals reached consensus at the Policy SIG and AGM:
- prop-142: Unify Transfers Policies Text
- prop-143: ASN to Customer
- prop-144: Experimental Proposal Allocation
In addition to the proposals, there were the following presentations during the Policy SIG:
- prop-141: Change maximum delegation size of IPv4 address from 512 (/23) to 768 (/23+/24) addresses (Aftab Siddiqui)
- APNIC 52 implementation report (Sunny Chendi)
- What happened with addresses is 2021 (Geoff Huston)
