APNIC EC Election
During the APNIC Member Meeting on Friday, 2 March 2012, the following candidates were elected to the APNIC Executive Council (EC):
- Che-Hoo Cheng
- MAEMURA Akinori
- Ma Yan
Policy SIG
Four policy proposals were discussed. The following proposal reached consensus and will progress to the 8-week comment period:
- prop-102: Sparse allocation guidelines for IPv6 resource allocations
The following proposals did not reach consensus, and were sent back to the mailing list for further discussion:
- prop-101: Removing multihoming requirement for IPv6 portable assignments
- prop-099: IPv6 Reservation for Large Networks
The following proposal did not reach consensus and was abandoned:
- prop-098: Optimizing IPv6 allocation strategies (simplified)
Indian NIR
The APNIC EC takes great pleasure in announcing today the recognition of a new National Internet Registry for India:
"We are very happy to have NIXI as the recognized operator of the NIR in India, and look forward to collaborating with this organization for the betterment of the Internet in India, the Asia-Pacific region and the world."
New sessions
Two new program sessions were included in the APNIC 33 program, APNIC Services.
