Visas
Visa requirements for Taiwan
The following information is a guide to the visa requirements for entry to Taiwan, Republic of China (ROC). Please confirm which visa provisions apply to you with your travel agent or at your closest ROC embassy or consulate.
Visa exempt entry
Holders of passports from the following countries are eligible to enter the ROC for up to 14 days (no extension permitted) without a visa:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and USA.

Landing visa
Passengers entering the ROC through CKS International Airport may apply for a landing visa at the Visa Office at CKS International Airport, Bureau of Consular Affairs. Holders of passports from the following countries are eligible to apply for the Landing Visa, which is valid for 30 days (no extension permitted):
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. and U.S.A.

Other visa types
Other passport holders will need to obtain a visa through an embassy or consulate before traveling to ROC. The requirements for visa applications follow:
- A passport valid for at least six months
- One completed visa application form
- Two passport photos
- Return air tickets
- Documents verifying the purpose of the visit
