As the Founder and President of the Nepal Internet Foundation, President of Lions Club of Kathmandu Cyber World, and Vice Chair of NepalIGF, I bring a wealth of experience to this role. Professionally, I am the Head of Retail Deposit, Priority, and Transaction Banking at Sanima Bank in Nepal. My involvement in Cooperation SIG allows me to leverage my expertise, local, regional and global networks, and energy to further the SIG's objectives.

My experience spans working with diverse stakeholders, including the private sector, government, civil society, international organizations, and academia. This broad perspective uniquely positions me to elevate the Cooperation SIG to new heights. I believe that my blend of technical, managerial and leadership skills, along with my deep experience and understanding of the challenges faced by the Cooperation SIG, enables me to approach these issues holistically.

Nominee statement

I am Bikram Shrestha from Nepal, and it is with enormous enthusiasm that I accept the nomination for the position of Co-Chair of the Cooperation SIG. My guiding principle has always been "Think Global, Act Local." As Co-Chair, I am committed to continuing this approach, ensuring that we bridge global insights with local actions to enhance the diversity, awareness, and capacity-building efforts within the Cooperation SIG.

Over the six years, I have observed that while many of the challenges facing the Internet are universal, their impacts are often more pronounced in under-developed and developing regions. I believe my experience and deep understanding of these challenges can help Cooperation SIG work more effectively with the APNIC community, as well as with a broader range of stakeholders, including civil society, governments, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. Together, we can guide policymakers and decision-makers towards realizing the immense value of an open and accessible Internet for all.

The Cooperation SIG aims to enhance diversity and inclusion by engaging stakeholders from various sectors, fostering collaboration and promoting an open and accessible Internet. The Co-Chair will prioritize discussions on Internet environmental, security, and privacy challenges, advocating for their elevation on policy agendas, especially in developing economies. The focus is on addressing these issues to drive progress in Internet development and governance. I have accepts the nomination and looks forward to contributing to the community's growth and success.
