Biography

Naresh Ajwani is President with Sify Technologies Limited, the pioneers and amongst leaders in eCommerce and Internet Services in India. He is an Executive Council Member with ISPAI (Internet Service Providers Association of India).

Besides being a student of Policy and Regulations pertaining to Telecom, IT & ITES, Internet Governance, e-Commerce, eSecurity and Internet & Broadband, he is an important member of the CII National Committee on IT, ITES & eCommerce. He is also serving the industry by being one of the Directors of the NIXI (National Internet Exchange of India) Board, since Sept. 2007.

He has been closely involved with various committees and government for internet governance and is now a known panelist in the circle--- A thought provoking communicator and strong believer of internet penetration, he advocates mass penetration for internet through the cyber café industry in developing countries and firmly believes that unless all stake holders will be involved, the desired eco system would not be evolved. It is this eco system which will empower the common masses world wide & common man will emerge as a WINNER. It is with this purpose in mind that he is attempting for NRO Council Membership.

With a Business Leadership Programme from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, Naresh is a Post Graduate in Public Administration from University of Rajasthan.

He brings with him more than 25 years of hard core operational experience and analytical abilities to manage a highly motivated and qualified team of sales, marketing, technical & customer support and has worked through diverse functions including Sales, Marketing, Technology, Human Resources, PR and Functional Leadership while practicing team-work at its best.

After a career in Sales and Marketing with Blue Star Ltd., Network Ltd., UDI Yellow Pages & a stint with Mitsubishi Mobile Phones (HAT Group), for nearly a decade, Naresh pioneered new approaches and has developed mass models vide hybridizing technologies and business segments such as wireless along with the cable operators and common man's solution for internet through shared PC concept in Sify.

He has facilitated regular and strategic contact with political leaderships and advocacy on related issues. He has been Sify's and ISPAI's key representative in front of MoC&IT, DoT, WPC and TRAI, acquiring fundamental as well as strategic knowledge of regulatory nuances, compliances and quasi-legal parameters typical of a highly regulated industry segment.
