Mr. Ganis received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
from Polytechnic University in New York, U.S.A & by early 1990 he
decided that he would pursue a professional carrier in Internet
technology related areas.
By 1994 he managed to work with OMNES to set its first ISP operation in
Indonesia, and subsequently assisting Pacific Internet to setup & to
manage its early Indonesian operation for several years. During that
period he participated with other early Indonesian ISPs to test
Indonesia's first non-profit Internet Exchange (IIX).
By 1998 he concentrated more on the integration aspects of Internet
solution and its relation to corporate network solution. His network
analysis interests & certifications helped him in assisting corporate
wide customers for end to end internetworking solution & performance
issues. He was chosen to coordinate the Indonesian election data
communication/ network in 1999 Indonesian General Election which was the
first election that allowed the counting processes/result to be viewed
by public over the Internet.
As one of USTTI 2002 alumni, he has committed to empower new/would-be
ISP/IT engineers. Latest initiatives with others included the formation
of Indonesian first national internet conference (dubbed: NICE -
National Internet Conference & Education - www.nice2004.web.id) held in
July 0f 2004. A cross between early APRICOT & Early INTEROP, this no
non-sense technological & practical Internet/ISP technologies event was
considered a success, and it is projected to draw larger IT
staff/engineers from Service Providers as well as Enterprises in 2005.
His over 14 years of practical day to day experiences dealing with
corporate end users, vendors, and ISPs all through 9 layers should
positively enrich the overall diversity of the executive committees.
