Geoff has an extremely good understanding of the issues surrounding general Internet addressing policy, and also of regional matters concerning addressing in the Asia-Pacific area and the operation of APNIC in particular. His past contributions to the Executive Council have shown him to be an extremely effective member in helping to develop policy for APNIC, and his enthusiasm for such work ensures he will continue to be highly active in any future participation.
GEOFF HUSTON holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Australian National University. He has been closely involved with the development of the Internet for the past decade, particularly within Australia, where he was responsible for the initial build of the Internet within the Australian academic and research sector. He is currently the Chief Scientist in the Internet area for Telstra. He is also a member of the Internet Architecture Board, and is currently an IETF-nominated member of the ICANN Protocol Support Council. He has served as a Trustee of the Internet Society from 1992 until 2001, including a term as Chair of the Board in 1999. He has been a member of the APNIC Executive Council since 1996, and is currently the Secretary of the APNIC Executive Council. |
