APNIC Security Specialist, Adli Wahid, participated in the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) 26th Annual Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, USA from 22 to 27 June.
FIRST is a global non-profit organization that brings together computer security incident response teams (CSIRTs) from over 300 corporations, government bodies, universities and other institutions globally. Adli is a member of the FIRST Steering Committee.
Attended by 700 people, the Conference consisted of presentations by leading CSIRT and global security experts who shared technical information and management practices. Participants included CSIRT staff, IT managers, network and system administrators, software and hardware vendors, law enforcement representatives, security solutions providers, telecommunications organizations, ISPs, and general computer and network security personnel.
APNIC activities
- Adli presented in the lightning talk session about security initiatives at APNIC, highlighting APNIC’s work on RPKI, SAVE/BCP38, and enhancing incident response awareness to APNIC Members
- He participated in FIRST Steering Committee meetings
- He shared information on APNIC training opportunities and upcoming APNIC Conferences in addition to the activities that APNIC usually participate in (NOGs, CERT events, inter-governmental events)
- He met with ITU, Africa Cert, PacCert, OIC-CERT, APCERT, ADB, ENISA and government representatives from APAC region
