APNIC supported IETF meeting in Beijing
APNIC lent support to IETF 79 as the Welcome Reception Sponsor.
The Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) supported the 79th meeting of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) as the Welcome Reception Sponsor at the Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing, China.
As part of its commitment to investing in Internet Development in the Asia Pacific Region, APNIC recognizes the importance of the IETF as the Internet’s premier technical standards body. APNIC Director General, Paul Wilson, encouraged APNIC Members to join IETF mailing lists and participate in events.
“The IETF is critical to the smooth operation of the global Internet, and these meetings produce high quality, relevant technical documents that influence the design, use, and management of the Internet,” Mr Wilson said.
About the IETF
The IETF holds three meetings annually, bringing together the international community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers concerned with the evolution of Internet architecture.
“Attendance at these meetings is regularly more than 1000 people representing at least 50 countries, with many more participating online via working group mailing lists,” Mr Wilson said.
