APNIC participates at the 7th annual CTO Forum in Fiji
APNIC will be participating in the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) Forum in Nadi, Fiji from 14 to 15 September 2009.
APNIC will be participating in the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) Forum in Nadi, Fiji from 14 to 15 September 2009.
Paul Wilson, Director General of APNIC, was invited to be a panel member for the session on "Growing global ICT regulatory trends" and will present specifically on Internet governance. He will also present on "Expanding the Internet - from IPv4 to IPv6" and will focus on government and industry partnerships that facilitate IPv6 deployment.
"APNIC is proud to be presenting at the CTO in Fiji. This event will certainly help to highlight current issues surrounding the Internet, in particular, IPv6 deployment and Internet governance. It is critical that key stakeholders start making efforts to facilitate IPv6 deployment now" states Mr Wilson.
Mr Wilson will also talk about the Information Society Innovation Fund (ISIF), a small grants program that aligns with a key mandate of the CTO, that is, bridging the digital divide by delivering to developing economies unique knowledge-sharing ICT programs.
