2008 was a landmark year for APNIC, with the establishment of Resource Certification and the introduction of a dedicated IPv6 project.

APNIC recently carried out its 2009 Member and Stakeholder survey, the results of which we have carefully assessed in order to refine our focus such that it closely matches your feedback.

The key findings were that APNIC should:

Moving forward in 2009, APNIC will work closely with local organizations to help develop the Internet, including significant training activities throughout the region.

In addition, APNIC will soon launch its completely redesigned and improved www.apnic.net website, bringing easy access to APNIC's valuable tools and information resources.

We are also expanding and improving our ICONS website to include more valuable information on the latest best practice in all areas of network management.

The APNIC Technical team will be focused on implementing a collaborative project with RIPE NCC on Test Traffic Measurement (TTM). APNIC test boxes will be will be sent to locations throughout the region to provide an improved level of reporting regarding the Internet connectivity of the Asia Pacific for our members and stakeholders, as well as improved local timekeeping services.

The APNIC Services team launched at the start of 2009 an improved and easier to use version of MyAPNIC, APNIC's online Internet resources management tool. The APNIC Services team will also work closely with our Technical and Policy units to implement the necessary procedures for the recently discussed resource transfer policy.

APNIC remains committed to representing the community's interests on global Internet governance and technical forums, such as the IETF and IGF, as well as providing a forum for members and stakeholders to share their knowledge and experience and discuss the pertinent issues facing the networking world at our twice-yearly APNIC Meetings.
