APNIC representatives will be attending the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Hyderabad, India, 3-6 December 2008.APNIC will represent the Asia Pacific Internet addressing community at IGF 2008 by:
- Participating as a member of the Number Resource Organization (NRO) in IGF workshops and main sessions
- Talking to IGF attendees throughout the meeting at the NRO booth in the IGF Village
- Organizing a workshop: Challenges facing Internet operators in developing countries
Have your say on Internet governance issues at this global platform
Each afternoon of the forum is set aside for open discussion by all stakeholders on the main themes of IGF. The main themes are:- Access to the Internet
- Realizing a multilingual Internet
- Dimensions of cybersecurity and cybercrime
- Fostering security, privacy, and openness
- The transition from IPv4 to IPv6
- Arrangements for Internet governance global and national/regional

About the IGF
The IGF facilitates discussions on Internet governance issues that affect multiple stakeholder groups. The IGF also provides the opportunity for emerging issues not dealt with by existing bodies to be addressed.The IGF includes a wide variety of discussions on Internet governance, including Internet security, privacy and trust, multilingualism on the Internet, and how to increase global access to the Internet.
