APNIC EC calls for comments on ICANN evolution and reform

The combined boards of the three Regional Internet Registries recently released a statement on ICANN Evolution and Reform.

The combined boards of the three Regional Internet Registries recently released a statement on ICANN Evolution and Reform. This was submitted to ICANN during June 2002.

Since the acceptance by the ICANN Board of the "Blueprint of Reform", the RIR boards are now considering a further response, including a statement of future direction.

The APNIC Executive Council (EC) strongly encourages Members and others in the Asia Pacific region to provide their inputs to the EC, for consideration during this process. As the RIR boards intend to finalize the next submission before the ICANN meeting in Shanghai (27-31 October), comments should be submitted as soon as possible, preferably before 1 September 2002.

Please send your contribution to the APNIC EC, by email to reform-comment@apnic.net.

There will also be a special feedback session on ICANN Reform at APNIC's Open Policy Meeting in Kitakyushu, Japan, 3-6 September 2002.
