Why these statistics are important

The ongoing Joint RIR Statistics Project is a combined effort to produce reliable and freely available resource status data. This project also addresses the community concern that it has been difficult to form a clear picture of IP and AS consumption rates on a global level or to estimate resource exhaustion. It is hoped these reports will lead to increased research and analysis of the global Internet resource usage.

What the statistics contain

Each RIR will produce a regularly updated report of resource status in the form of a historical summary of the resources allocated, assigned, or reserved, including geographical information. Personal registration data, such as contact details and organization names, will not be included. The resources reported are:
