Nominee statement

Why I’m Running

I’m running for Chair of the Routing Security SIG because RPKI adoption in our region remains frustratingly slow. I believe I can help address the real-world barriers to deployment.

Background

  • 30+ years working on Internet infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific
  • Managed training delivery for APNIC across South Asia and Oceania
  • Published research on RPKI deployment in Australia and NZ
  • Currently consulting on strategic Internet infrastructure initiatives
  • Secretary, Pacific Islands Internet Exchange – routing security is a priority

What I Aim to Achieve

  • RPKI Implementation Focus

Address practical barriers: resource constraints, training gaps, and business cases.

  • Knowledge Exchange Platform

Launch dedicated sessions at APNIC/APRICOT conferences for real-world RPKI problem-solving.

  • Online Community Updates

Organize two virtual events per year focused on RPKI and emerging standards (e.g., ASPA).

  • Targeted Regional Coordination

Recognize and address the different needs of island nations, enterprise networks, etc.

Why Me?

I understand both technical and operational sides of RPKI. I’ve worked with a range of networks—from small Pacific ISPs to national infrastructure providers—and know that deployment issues are often practical, not technical.

If elected, I’ll deliver:

  • Better deployment resources
  • Real-world case studies
  • Hands-on support for RPKI adoption
