Experience and involvement in APNIC activities

Oanh has been working as Deputy Director of Cooperation and Resources Management Department, VNNIC, and engaging with APNIC community since 2013. She has experience in working as an IP hostmaster, IP/ASN, IPv6, Routing policy maker, IPv6/RPKI development analyst trainer, project manager and now as Deputy Director. She has been attending almost APNIC, APRICOT, APIX meetings for 12 years, and 04 years as a NIR SIG Chair.

She has initiated and contributed to many projects that have brought Viet Nam to be in the top 10 countries having the highest IPv6 adoption rate in the world; conducting training courses in IPv6, and Number Resources not only for Viet Nam community but also for Laos community; engaging the ASEAN Smart ICT Ecosystem Project to support ASEAN region to deploy IPv6; sharing our experiences to other NIRs’ friends and communities, and other meetings such as APAC IPv6 Councial meetings, APAN meetings and so on.

Nominee statement

She has been working closely with all NIRs, and APNIC Team, joining APIX, and ICANN meetings as well, gaining priceless experience and knowledge in Internet resources management and development, IPv6 and RPKI deployment, IXP, and Internet services development. As NIR SIG Chair for 4 years, she always tries to support and gathers not only all NIRs but also NIRs members joining NIR SIG sessions. She is delighted to contribute her thoughts, knowledge, and ideas to new angles to improve the engagement amongst the NIR community and initiate new activities for the SIG and contribute for APNIC community as well.

Reason for nomination

Oanh Nguyen has been working as Deputy Director of Cooperation and Resources Management Department, VNNIC. She is also an experienced NIR SIG Chair of APNIC community (2021 - 2023, 2023 - 2025). She contributed her thoughts and ideas from new angles to improve and innovate the NIR SIG Forum with the new format, interesting content, and activating discussion at each meeting.

She also joined and shared Viet Nam and VNNIC’s experiences regarding Number resources, IPv6 deployment, RPKI, digital transformation … in many events, such as APNIC, APRICOT, APAN meetings, APAC IPv6 council, APAC DNS Forum, Asean ICT Forum, Open Policy meetings of some NIRs, other activities. Engaging with APNIC community for nearly 15 years, she has a chance to work closely with all NIRs, gaining priceless experience and knowledge in Internet resources management and development, IPv6 and RPKI deployment, IX, and Internet services development. She is delighted to contribute her thoughts, knowledge, and ideas to new angles to improve the engagement amongst the NIR community and initiate new activities for the SIG.
