EC Election 2023
Four positions were open for election at APNIC 55. The nominations (in the order they were received) were:

Congratulations to Yoshinobu Matsuzaki, Kenny Huang, Roopinder Singh Perhar and Anlei Hu on their election to the APNIC EC. They will each serve a two-year term of office.

The EC met following the election and appointed Kenny Huang as Chair; Yoshinobu Matsusaki as Treasurer; and Vincent ‘Achie’ Atienza as Secretary.
The EC thanks outgoing members, Gaurab Raj Upadhaya and Feng Leng for their service to the APNIC community.
Cooperation SIG
The Cooperation SIG is a forum for discussion about broader Internet issues such as public policy and Internet governance with a focus on information sharing, outreach, capacity building, and other activities that will advance APNIC’s vision for a global, open, stable, and secure Internet.
Discussion centred on the most pressing regulatory challenges facing ISPs, including content filtering and censorship, data privacy and security, network neutrality and global inconsistencies. The recording and transcript of the session is available.
NIR SIG
The NIR SIG shares information relating to the operations, policies, and procedures of National Internet Registries (NIRs) with the aim of promoting close cooperation among the NIRs and with the APNIC Secretariat.
The NIR SIG had the following presentations:

Open Policy Meeting (Policy SIG)
The APNIC Open Policy Meeting (OPM) is an open forum to develop policies that relate to the management and use of Internet number resources within the Asia Pacific region. These include policies for resource allocation, recovery and transfer, and for resource registration within whois, reverse DNS, RPKI and related services.
The Open Policy Meeting (OPM) had a presentation about the following:
- What happened with addresses in 2023 (Geoff Huston)
- Proposed changes to the PDP (Bertrand Cherrier)
The following policy proposals reached consensus at the OPM and AGM:
- prop-147: Historical Resources Management
- prop-150: ROA/whois object with Private, Reserved and Unallocated (reserved/available) Origin ASN
- prop-151: Restricting non-hierarchical as-set
The following proposal was not put for consensus and will go back to the mailing list, as the version discussed at the OPM was not the same version that was submitted to the mailing list:
- prop-149: Change of maximum delegation for less than /21 total IPv4 holdings

Routing Security SIG
The Routing Security SIG provides a platform to discuss operational issues and best practices to secure global Internet routing. It also provides advice, support and technical review of policy proposals concerning routing security to advise the APNIC Community.
The SIG had presentations about the following topics:
- Status of hierarchical vs non-hierarchical as-sets (Aftab Siddiqui)
- Encoding Route Origin Authorizations for Flexible and Fine-Grained Management (Yanbiao Li)
- Towards more accurate and more automatic source address validation in the Internet (Fang Gao)
- Benefits of RPKI Signed Checklists (Tom Harrison)
