Nominee statement
I am now the Principal Research Fellow of ZDNS a company that provides Internet infrastructure services. At ZDNS, I have been leading research activities regarding IPAM, DNSSEC and the RPKI. Before joining in ZDNS, I served Computer Network Information Centre, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as a network scientist. My experiences with Internet Number Resource management technologies, IETF, APNIC, and ICANN make me competent to be a member of Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC).
I have been working on the RPKI and routing security for a decade. I am one of the co-authors of RFC 8211 (Adverse Actions by a CA or Repository Manager in the RPKI), RFC 8416 (Simplified Local Internet Number Resource Management with the RPKI) and RFC 8897 (RPKI Relying Party Requirements). My expertise would benefit the NRO NC in discussions of number policies, especially with respect to the RPKI.
I have been working closely with APNIC community. I was the co-founder of Routing Security SIG of APNIC (now acting co-chair of this SIG) and the member of Program Committee of APRICOT 2021and will serve as APNIC52 Fellowship Program Mentor. My experience and standing in APNIC community would enhance my role as NRO NC member.
I am also active in ICANN community. I was selected as the member of ICANN RSSAC Caucus in February 2015, contributing to RSSAC 024(Key Technical Elements of Potential Root Operators), RSSAC 028(Technical Analysis of the Naming Scheme Used for Individual Root Servers)and RSSAC 056 (RSSAC Advisory on Rogue DNS Root Server Operators). I was the member of ICANN CGP of Root Zone LGR Project and awarded an ICANN Certificate of Achievement for this job. I was an invited reviewer of ICANN OCTO-014 report on RPKI Technical Analysis. My experience with ICANN community also makes me a good candidate for the NRO NC, given the Council’s role as ICANN ASO AC.
