About Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), formerly known as Saigon, is considered to be one of the most dynamic areas of Viet Nam - a social, cultural and economic center of the south.
Wide elegant boulevards and historic French colonial buildings grace the city. Some of the city's best tourist spots, including the Reunification Palace, City Hall, Opera House, City Post Office Saigon Zoo, Botanical Gardens and Notre-Dame Cathedral, are all a short walking distance from each other.
Vietnamese cuisine is well known for its tasty diversity. There is a wide range of choice for tourists: from luxurious restaurants to street markets.
The city has two distinct seasons, which are rainy (May to October) and dry (November to April). The best times for travelling to Ho Chi Minh City are from late November through to March. During this time, visitors enjoy mild temperatures and occasional showers.
People in HCMC are helpful, friendly and hospitable.
